National Transfer Your Money Day

October 13th, 2011 by Karen Zuppinger

Fed up with what’s going on with the large “too big to fail” banks. Join the movement and move your money elsewhere. The Occupy Wall Street Movement has set forth the call for everyday Americans to tell the big banks no thanks by withdrawing your money and redistributing it back into your communities-by banking with local banks and credit unions. That’s the subject of discussion on We The People October 14, 2011. Join us. The deadline for this effort is November 5, 2011. But you can start today.

For more information please take a look at: http://ireport.cnn.com/docs/DOC-686334

Below is a list of local community banks and how to find a credit union in your community. If you have more to add pleas let me know.

“We The People” Student Debt and Revolution

August 11th, 2011 by Karen Zuppinger

Recently on continents all across the globe students and young people have been rising up against their Government(s). But not here in the U.S. Why? A recent article by Bruce E. Levine published in Alternet.org

http://www.alternet.org/vision/151850/8_reasons_young_americans_don%27t_fight_back%3A_how_the_us_crushed_youth_resistance/?page=entire suggest that youth resistance is being crushed beneath increasing amounts of debt.

We’ll tackle this question on the next installment of “We The People” airing Friday August 12th, 2011 from 1-2pm on WOOL.fm.

Comments, discussions and opinions are encouraged!

See you there.

July 10th, 2011 by Karen Zuppinger

Hi All you Zu animals! We’re about to make a few program changes. Starting Friday August 5th 2011 the shows new time will be moving from 12:00-1:00pm EST to 11:30am-12:30pm EST. Time will remain the same from 12:00-1pm

Also immediately following “The ZU” I will be hosting a new program called “We The People”. (from 1pm-2pm).  It’ll consist of an hour long discussion about law, politics, and philosophy affecting our lives at home and at large. The first topic will be the new “Health Care Bill” that passed the Vermont legislature. If you haven’t read it -do. It’s only 142 pages and we will be discussing it about 10 pages at a time. If you need a copy contact your Representative and request one. He/She can either mail one to you, email it to you or point you to a link where you can download a copy. (more…)
