The Rockingham Historical Commission is proud to present a “Lunch and Lecture” event catered by the Vermont Pretzel & Cookie Cafe. The lecture, led by expert paper conservator Carolyn Frisa, will cover the history, care and conservation of wallpaper. Frisa is the Head Conservator and owner of Works on Paper . She specializes in the conservation of art on paper, maps, historic documents, wallpaper and parchment.
The event will take place on Saturday, March 3rd at 1:30pm in the Newberry Gallery at Vermont Pretzel & Cookie Cafe, located in downtown Bellows Falls. The Carving Studio and Sculpture Center is grateful for the generous gift of a sculpture by local artist Renzo Palmerini for the annual Marble Mardi Gras fundraising event. Renzo Palmerini was a stone sculptor at the Vermont Marble Company from the 1950s through the late 1980s. He carved the busts in the popular Gallery of the U.S. Presidents at the Vermont Marble Exhibit in Proctor, as well as various commissions around the country.
The Marble Mardi Gras will be held at the Rutland Country Club at 5:30 PM on Saturday, March 3, 2012. The popular event begins with Cocktails and bidding on Silent Auction items. Dinner is served at 7:00 and followed by a Live Auction led by Bobby Prozzo. Dancing to live music by “On The Rocks” rounds out the gala evening.
